Looking after your watch

Do you have to wind your Rolex?

If you wear your Rolex daily, there’s no requirement to manually wind it. As you go about your daily activities, the Perpetual rotor inside the watch continuously transfers energy, ensuring a consistent and reliable power source. Even when you take it off and set it aside, your Rolex can retain its charge for up to 70 hours, depending on the model.

Should you need to kickstart it after a brief pause, simply wind the movement manually. To do so, unscrew the crown to the winding position and turn it clockwise about 20 times.

Always remember to securely screw the crown back down against the case to maintain its waterproof integrity. This straightforward process ensures your Rolex is ready to accompany you on your next adventure.

How often do you need to get your Rolex serviced?

To ensure the ongoing accuracy and water resistance of your Rolex timepiece, Rolex advises that you periodically entrust your watch to an Official Rolex Retailer or Service Centre for expert servicing.

The recommended service interval for your Rolex typically falls around every 5 years, but this can vary based on the specific model and how regularly you use it in your day-to-day life.

What does a Rolex servicing consist of?

During Rolex servicing, your watch undergoes a meticulous process. Firstly, it is disassembled, and all of its parts undergo ultrasonic cleaning. Each component is scrutinised closely, and any elements that no longer meet Rolex’s exacting functional and aesthetic standards are replaced with authentic Rolex parts.

The watch movement is expertly lubricated and subjected to electronic tests to ensure precise timekeeping. The case and metal bracelet are painstakingly refinished to restore their original brilliance.

Following these steps, your Rolex goes through a battery of rigorous technical assessments and checks to confirm its waterproof integrity, power reserve, and accuracy. Upon completion of a comprehensive Rolex service, your watch is backed by a service guarantee, assuring its performance and quality.
